CAPITALIZE!
There it is, the bridge to your prosperity. Each and every man has to make that journey across the bridge for himself. No one can do it for you. See, just across the water is your future. The promise of joining the America of full citizenship. To participate in your share of wealth and pursuing happiness.
The problem is we cannot get there by operating in the same methods we have been using. We cannot debate our way across that bridge saying we are at a disadvantage. Telling someone off might give you an emotional release, but it will not raise a single dollar for investment. Secondly, we must not take things from our neighbors mowing down everything in our paths to get across that bridge. You cannot build anything by destroying someone else’s chance at opportunity. This is a new day. If you have not noticed, there are many more people in this country besides the Black and White ones. This has change the entire dynamics of this country. Every crew pulling up on this land has an agenda to build their own. Each group vying for a piece of the action and a seat at the table. Ding, Ding… that’s the bell, it’s time for us to do the same. We must compete at the highest levels without flinching. Real businesspeople can roll with the punches with the best of them.
The way you, A Black Male, proceed across that bridge is by producing your way across that bridge. You play the game by studying, practicing, and putting in work every single day. Ball players do the same, right? In the 1930’s the Major Leagues of professional sports in this country said Black men didn’t have the mental capacity to play pro sports. Really? Jack Robinson of Pasadena, CA came along and blew that notion into a million pieces. His number #42 is retired permanently from the league. No one on any team can wear #42 except on his day when everyone wears it. Back to producing a good work. It seems we are at a standstill again because it appears we cannot play professional business. Really? Seriously, we are capable of achieving anything if we understand the game. The game is Capitalize in business and real estate.
As you look across that bridge with all of the wealth and fortune do not forget about your present circumstances. The position you are currently in is not sustainable. Our neighborhoods will no longer exist for us to post up all day long and do nothing. I’m sure you can see the commercial developers are buying up the properties around you. The word “Gentrify” has a negative connotation for us. We see the loss of control when they bring in huge sums of capital to steamroll our communities. This is regrettable you feel this way. But, “What are you going to do about it!” Take a good long look within yourself, deep down in your spirit you have the power to build your own neighborhood.
When you start your journey to the empire city across the water, you must leave many people behind. It is unfortunate but endless numbers of people will not put in the effort to cross that bridge for themselves. They will hoot and howl about we can’t get nowhere, but will not lift one finger to move in a positive direction. Do not let them talk you out of making that journey. Do not try to carry them across the bridge on your back, you might not make it yourself. And most importantly, do not look back once you are on the bridge. We want you to experience this journey with spirit and strength, not a feeble man barely moving.
Being a man living in these United States, you are more than capable of crossing that bridge, playing in the game of business, and winning big. The way you do this is by Capitalizing. Each one of you should end your journey on the other side of that bridge with at least $1,000,000 to pass on to your kids.
