It has been 13 years since Larry took that part-time job as a Parking Valet at $150 per weekend. He has come a long way, he has worked hard, more importantly he has been smart with his moves. It has been only him up to this point. The sacrifices were not easy but he could endure them without much fuss, now he has 2 other people to be concerned about. This is a whole new ballgame for Larry and he has no experience with this. LaTasha in three days has shown him she is willing to be equally responsible, she has taken care of dinners. She has her and Marvin’s things completely organized. She’s not a messy person. She still has $3,000 in her possession, so she’s not a spendthrift. She is as eager to get started in business as he is and she is very respectful of his things. He feels better about his decision. It’s time to let her behind the curtain and show her his assets and wealth. It’s Saturday morning and they are eating breakfast.
Larry, “Marvin you want to throw football later?” Marvin, “Johnny and Memphis are coming over and we are going to play in the backyard.” LaTasha, “You know a kid named Memphis?” Marvin, “Yea, I don’t know why that’s his name, but he likes to dance.” Larry, “When did you meet these cats, you make friends fast?” Marvin, “Two days ago, they both live in the same building 4 doors down the street. We played football in their yard, now they are coming over here.” Larry feeling left out, “Ok Marvelous but tomorrow we can play catch, right?” Marvin, “Okay, tomorrow.” LaTasha under her breath, “Larry, you’ve been dumped already.” Larry, “I know.” Larry makes plans to sit down with LaTasha at the kitchen table while Marvin is playing.
Larry and LaTasha are sitting at the table and he shows her his financial scoreboard.
