Larry arrives at 10 minutes to 2. LaTasha and Marvin come out early and get in his truck. Marvin is already giggling in the back with his backpack on. Larry, “Little man what are you doing with that backpack on?” Marvin, “I got my tools in here, I’m ready to go to work with you.” Larry is touched, “Alright, I’m glad you came prepared.” LaTasha, “Larry this a nice truck why do you keep it hidden?” Larry, “It is easier to get around this island on the train, plus I need this truck to do a great deal of work soon. I don’t want to use it, until I need it.” LaTasha, “You are different, I’ll give you that, but in a good way. Where are we going man?” Larry, “To the building I have to show you something, then afterwards we are going to Central Park and do whatever you and Marvin want to do.” Marvin, “Yeahh! Can I work the drill? Are we going to eat hot dogs, can we ride the paddle boats?” LaTasha, “You got him all excited now, good you can chase him around and give me a break!” Larry, “Marvelous we can do all those things.”
They arrive at the building, he makes Marvin and LaTasha cover their eyes before they walk in the door. They come in and he says they can open their eyes. LaTasha is blown away. ‘Larry, what did you do to the place.’ Larry, “I took out the living room and made it a showroom for our new jewelry store, I put the living area in the back with the big screen TV, plus I added a ½ bathroom here for you and the clients.” LaTasha is still stunned, she is speechless. Larry, “That’s the first time you couldn’t say anything.” She hits him on the arm, “Man you keep doing this to me.” ‘What?’ LaTasha now crying, “Why are you so good to me?” Marvin, “Momma, why you crying? Larry is nice to us?” LaTasha, “Baby, I’m not sad. I’m happy, you are right, Larry is nice to us.” Marvin satisfied, “Can I play with the drill now?” Larry, “Not today, how about I give you some ice cream and you can watch cartoons while me and your mom talk for a little bit.” Marvin, “Okay, but can I watch football?” ‘Sure, you can’
Larry comes back to the front and LaTasha is looking in cabinets and eyeing the place for what she wants to do with the space. Larry, “You like it?” LaTasha, “I love it, look at these display cases, man you in trouble.” Larry, “What did I do now?” ‘You did all this without telling me anything. When did you do this?’ Larry, “I started the next day when you and Marvin left that night.” ‘What if I said heck no, I don’t want to go in business with you.’ Larry, “You still haven’t said you would. I just had to believe you would. See, you had me when you slipped that first bracelet around my wrist. Before you say anything else. I want to tell you what my ideas of what a jewelry business would look like.” LaTasha, “Okay, the floor is yours.”
